Recently the Financial Times featured an article about a debt collection firm in Poland that did some simple research and discovered that taking nicer approach with their customer/debtors paid big dividends.
“We saw that about 80 per cent of problem loans were to people who really wanted to pay and felt bad about not being able to,” said Mr. Krupa, CEO of Kruk. “Instead of demanding full repayment of past debts we began negotiating long-term schemes aimed at getting people to pay regularly small sums they could afford.”
People are people no matter where they live and this article provides further evidence that if you treat debtors with the dignity and respect they deserve you can help people in their time of need and make a tremendous amount of money in the process.
